How to revive characters in Baldur’s Gate 3?
There are a few different ways for players to revive characters in Baldur’s Gate 3, and we’ve detailed them below.
Use a Scroll of Revivify
One way to bring a character back to life in Baldur’s Gate 3 is by using a single-use consumable item called the Scroll of Revivify.
You can find a Scroll of Revivify during the Escape the Nautiloid quest during the Baldur’s Gate 3 prologue. You can even buy them from merchants like Roah Moonglow (Shattered Sanctum), Arron (The Hollow), and Cyrel (The Risen Road).

That being said, these scrolls are quite expensive so the best way to acquire them is by stealing them from the merchant which is quite easy to do. Once you’ve acquired it, here is how you can use the Scroll of Revivify:
- Open your inventory.
- Search for the Scroll of Revivify.
- Select and use the item as you would do with any other item.
- When the AoE appears on the screen, select the fallen teammate you want to resurrect.
- Once it’s used, the fallen member will rejoin the party immediately.
Learn the Revivify Spell
In case you don’t have extra money to spend on the Scroll of Revivify, you can also learn the Revivify Spell. However, you need to meet some requirements first.
- Be a Cleric (Life, Light, and Trickery domains) or a Paladin.
- Reach level 5.
- A level 3 spell slot.
Speak to Withers
Another way you can revive characters in the game is through the Withers. However, before this option becomes available, you’ll need to free him in the ‘Overgrown Ruins’ quest and then he’ll join your camp.
Follow the steps below to revive a character:
- If a character has died in battle, wait until the battle is over and then fast-travel to your camp.
- Talk to Withers by the beach.
- He’ll offer to revive any character in exchange for 200 gold.
- Once the transaction has been made, your ally will be fully revived and respawn at camp.
