Foamstars has finally launched in all its bubbly PVP glory and some players want to know if they can take it on the road. So, is Foamstars coming to Steam Deck?
Foamstars is a brand-new 4v4 PVP party shooter that looks like Square Enix’s answer to Nintendo’s much-loved Splatoon games. The game features very similar movement mechanics with its obvious inspiration with players surfing around on bubbles instead of ink.
While some criticized the game as a rip-off of Splatoon in the lead-up to release, Foamstars has done a pretty good job of distinguishing itself. It takes a far more live service approach with a series of weekly challenges and rewards.
One area players might want the game to emulate Splatoon however is portability. For those players, we have the answer to whether you can play Foamstars on the Steam Deck.
Is Foamstars getting a Steam Deck and PC release?
At present, Foamstars is currently exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles meaning it’s not currently available on the Steam Deck. The game has been made available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers and that’s the best way to play for now.
There haven’t been any announcements about whether or not Foamstars will come to other platforms as of yet. In saying that, Square Enix has a history of timed exclusivity with Sony.
