Is Joe Rogan playable in UFC 5 like he was in earlier titles? We went straight to the source and got an answer directly from the developers at EA.
With a new UFC game comes rampant speculation around the game’s roster. While active champions and beloved veterans are always a given, devs tend to throw a few curveballs into the mix from time to time as well.
In previous years, we’ve seen a wide range of legendary figures enter the cage; even Dana White himself made an appearance in UFC 3. But one name fans are always interested in is UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
The hugely popular podcast host has indeed been playable in previous iterations, including UFC 2 and UFC 3, but was notably absent from the most recent UFC 4. So now, with UFC 5 on the horizon, will Joe Rogan be making his return as a playable character? Here’s what we found out in speaking with the developers.

“Joe Rogan is not a playable character in UFC 5,” McDonald said, a definitive statement to clear up any and all rumors surrounding this year’s release.
“There’s names across all lifestyles that we discuss,” he continued, but for this year’s release, Rogan isn’t on the list.
Naturally, fans are always speculating which crossovers we might see with larger-than-life celebrities or icons from other combat sports. We’ve seen everyone from Tyson Fury to Bruce Lee enter the virtual cage, and this time around players have three such legendary figures on the way.
While Joe Rogan isn’t among them, UFC 5’s roster will include Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, and Fedor Emelianenko for those who pre-order.
