Last Epoch Marksman skills and tree breakdown
A Blast Rain Marksman works best from range. The build is designed to bring down enemies from afar and provide survivability and swift escapes in a pinch. It utilizes Explosive Traps and Detonating Arrows to deadly effect to take down mobs at range, while using Shift, Smoke Bomb and Shurikens to provide plenty of mobility.
Explosive Trap
Specing Blast Rain is obviously a core feature of the build. Blast Rain allows the Marksman fire traps with their bow attack, letting players rain down death from above.

Picking both Static Mines and Coldsnap Mines adds additional elemental damage to explosive traps. A few points in Jelkhor’s Blueprint will help keep mana costs reduced too.
Detonating Arrow
The Blast Rain Marksman build is designed to use Explosive Trap to proc Detonating Arrow. Look at taking points in nodes like Suckerpunch Arrow and Beastslayer Arrow for increased damage multipliers.
Options like Copper Dust Arrow and Weak Spot are good picks for adding some debuffs to the rotation.
Shift
Shift provides this build with plenty of mobility, allowing players to escape sticky situations or kite enemies easily.
Some points in Momentum will give the build even more speed, while Molting grants a cleanse to remove status effects, a great pick to improve survivability.
Smoke Bomb
Smoke Bomb functions as an extra way to close gaps quickly, as well as granting a few other benefits which gel nicely with the build. There’s a nice DoT option available from Concealed in Carnage. Players can also spec Cleansing Steam for another way to clear status effects.
Shurikens
Shurikens is a great skill tree for this build. It provides a boost to armor thanks to Bladed Armor and another swift escape thanks to Acrobatics. Plus, as Shurikens will proc every time Shift is used, it gives a nice bonus to damage when leaping into the fray.
Marksman gear and stat priority guide
As mentioned earlier, Marksman’s most important stats are Dexterity, Endurance, Attack Speed and Critical Strike Multipliers. As always capping out resistances is worthwhile, as well as buffs to Movement Speed.
A safe approach to take when gearing a Blast Rain Marksman is to keep any eye out for drops with the following modifiers.
- Dexterity (aim to buff it to 100)
- Endurance (aim to max this stat out too)
- Glancing Blow
- Capping out Resistances
- Capping out Critical Strike Avoidance
- Movement Speed
- Damage Multipliers
- + Skill Level Affixes
This entire build is designed to work with the Reign of Winter bow to ensure maximum procs for Blast Rain damage and add some bonus cold from the longbow’s Icicle attack. Another piece of Unique gear players should consider working towards is Prism Wraps with Legendary Potential. This provides a nice Skill bonus to Explosive Trap, and allows players to max out more nodes than 20.
In terms of Idols, Large Idols which provide boosts to Health and Elemental Resistances are good picks for this build.
