After years of silence, the Capcom fighting titles featuring Marvel characters will be coming to modern systems. But what can fans expect from Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics?
Capcom has never been afraid of porting its classics to modern systems. The games involving Marvel heroes & villains are a different matter due to the extra licensing involved, which often results in temporary remasters that get taken down from online storefronts.
It seems that whatever legal issues that have held up Marvel and Capcom remasters have been resolved, as Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was announced during the June 18 2024 Nintendo Direct. This means that lots of amazing arcade titles are coming back in a big way.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics new features & modes
All of the games in Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will feature online play, both co-op and competitive. Additionally, rollback netcode will be utilized for a faster and smoother experience, especially for people with slower Internet speeds.
The online modes include Casual Matches, Ranked Matches, and Custom Matches, with Custom allowing you to set rules. Hopefully, this will let you ban Cable in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Notably, Crossplay is not supported!
The exception is The Punisher, which only has online co-op because it is a beat ’em up.
The fighting games in the collection will include a High Score Challenge, a Training Mode with advanced settings, arcade marquees, old display filters, pause and retry in arcade mode, new unlockable challenges.
Like Street Fighter 6, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics also has extra difficulty modes for beginners. These include options to set Specials to a single button, as well as adjustable difficulty.
In the Gallery and Sound mode, you can view the concept and official artwork for each game and play all of the tracks heard in each game.
It bears mentioning that some of the games in the collection have had visuals changed, mostly to remove the flashing effects that were present in more audacious attacks.
