Palworld has been smashing records left, right, and center since its launch. In fact, its concurrent player number reached such an unprecedented height that an “emergency meeting” was called with Epic Games to provide a quick fix to the problem.
Palworld has been hard to miss since it dropped on January 19, selling over a million copies in the first eight hours alone. Players have praised both the concept and the gameplay in the self-described “multiplayer, open-world survival and crafting game.”
The game’s unexpected popularity has thrilled Palworld developers, Pocketpair. But things haven’t been completely smooth sailing during its debut.
Most notably, issues with Xbox’s game pass and connectivity problems have arisen; especially with the game’s co-op mode causing some minor frustration over the weekend. Now, Epic Games is stepping in.
Many players found themselves running into errors trying to connect and play with friends as the game’s concurrent player number surged well above expectations.

As the Pocketpair devs explained on Twitter; “the number of players exceeded 700,000 concurrent players, and a problem occurred in the Epic Games backend.”
However, “emergency meetings” held with Epic managed to provide a swift solution to the problem.
“You should notice an improvement in connectivity and the errors should start to disappear shortly,” the devs said on Twitter. Since the fix, Palworld reached a peak concurrent player count of over 850,000 according to Steam Charts.
That puts it in the top ten most-played games of all time on Steam, and its player count doesn’t show any sign of slowing down. It looks like Palworld’s breakout popularity is set to keep shattering records for the time being.
