While we’ve known about the project since its announcement back in 2020 with a short but sweet teaser, we haven’t learned a great deal since, IO largely keeping its next project under wraps. Though with that said, we do have some idea of what to expect thanks to a few early comments.

No doubt the game studio is looking to refresh the Bond IP with a polished and impressive gameplay experience for players. To achieve that, the title will need a decent amount of time in development, especially with devs getting used to new-gen hardware.

It’s obvious the studio has ambitious goals for this project as they’re planning on expanding their workforce of 200 employees to over 400 during the game’s development.

It’s unlikely we’ll see the game release until at least 2025 or perhaps more likely, 2026.  Players who are looking to keep up with all the latest development updates can sign up for a newsletter here on the game’s website.

Is there a Project 007 trailer?

While there is no proper trailer for Project 007 as of yet, there is a teaser trailer that was released in November 2020. It’s fair to say that this didn’t reveal much about the game, with it simply confirming that the studio was indeed developing a Bond game and successfully got fans of the studio extremely excited.

Although the teaser trailer doesn’t provide us with much information, hearing the Bond theme is enough to get any fan of the old games hyped for the upcoming title’s release.

Do we know what Project 007 is about?

While much has been speculated, we do have some early details about the nature of Project 007. For starters, we know the game is a “completely original story” in the Bond universe. That means it won’t feature any known Bond actor, nor will it retell any story we’ve seen in the films thus far, it’s something fresh instead.

Also teased in a 2024 IGN interview, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak implied it will be a “young Bond” as well, with plans to make a full-fledged trilogy as we see this iteration of the character grow in front of us.

Are there any details on platforms?

No, there are currently no details as to which platforms Project 007 could release on. That being said, we’re expecting Project 007 to launch on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Of course, it’s always possible the game is released as an exclusive title, but as IO Interactive hasn’t commented on the game’s platforms, it’s difficult to tell for now.
