Pokemon Go players, especially those in rural areas, have been wanting Niantic to make it easier for them to play by adding more PokeStops in their local communities. After seeing how the game looks in Poland, rural users are all saying the same thing.
Niantic’s mobile game has been keeping people busy in the last few weeks, with Go Fest having passed and a Safari event in Barcelona coming up soon.
Aside from the major events and content updates, though, some users are still limited in terms of how much they can interact with simple features. For example, PokeStops and Gyms are not so common in many areas of the United States, Europe, Asia, and beyond – particularly in suburban towns.
Opening up the application in a big city, though, is a totally different experience. And many have been left open-mouthed after seeing how vibrant the game’s map looks in one area of Poland, shared by a player.
Rural Pokemon Go players want their game to look like this
On September 8, one Reddit user jumped onto the game’s subreddit page and pondered: “Why is there only 3 Pokemon in this cluster?”
They attached a screenshot with the message, showing what they were seeing.
Rather than getting an answer to the question, though, some others in the community couldn’t believe what they were seeing on the screen. In just one frame, over 25 PokeStops could be seen – many of which were located around the edges of what looks like a park area.
“How are those stops so close to each other?” one fan asked.

The original poster chimed in, saying: “No clue. This is in Gdansk, Poland. The PokeStops are every bench in the park, every toy at the playground, some roofs, some signs, just every random thing around here lol.”
“Wow, and here’s me struggling to get a single thing accepted,” they said in reply.
Pokemon Go players can request PokeStops be placed in their local area, by submitting a ticket to the developers of the game. You can also do the same for Gyms. However, not all of them are accepted.
Those who live outside of big cities can often find PokeStops – which are essential for collecting daily items and attracting Pokemon encounters – in short supply.
“Why does every atom in Poland need to have a Pokestop?” one fan joked, to which the user responded that not many are playing locally, either.
The distribution of stops in Niantic’s game has always been a pain point for some members of the community, but they’ll be hoping as time goes on, more and more locations will look just like this. Other major cities in Europe – Paris, London, Milan etc – are filled with them, after all.
With future updates, the suburbs may get more love. We shall have to wait and see.
