Behind the breathtaking vistas lurk dark secrets and darker creatures. To survive, players need to solve the island’s puzzle. And to do that, they’ll need to find all the keycards.
The keycards aren’t the only things of note in the areas where they’re hidden. With a game like Sons of the Forest its worth interacting with everything to find loot for crafting or key items to progress the game’s story.
Here’s the locations for every Sons of the Forest keycard, and how to get them.
How to get the Maintenance A Keycard
The Maintenance A Keycard, also sometimes called the Carl Planter Keycard, is hidden inside the bunker under Maintenance Hatch A on the North-West side of the map.
Players will need the Shovel before they try to get their hands on the Maintenance A Keycard so they can dig the hatch out. Luckily, the bunker is just north of the cave where the Shovel can be found; between the beach and the mountainside.
A green point of interest circle on the mini-map will begin flashing to indicate the keycard’s location. But, the entrance to Maintenance Hatch A is also marked by a golf caddy, between two tripods.
Once Maintenance Hatch A is uncovered, climb down the ladder and head into the open corridor. The Maintenance A Keycard is located on a desk in the room with the open door on the right-hand side.

How to get the VIP Keycard
The VIP Keycard is slightly tricker to obtain. It’s located inside a cave marked by two golf carts in the North-West corner of the map. Players will need the Maintenance Keycard, a rebreather and an airtank to proceed. Again, the pulsing green circle on the mini-map helps with pointing out the right direction.
The cave with the gold carts leads through a tunnel to a hatch which players need to climb down. Once below, use the Maintenance Keycard on the blue scanner to open a nearby door. Behind the door is a laboratory and hydroponic gardens.
At this point, players will need to keep following the corridors until they reach the lower floor, and then wade through the flooded lab.
After traversing through the water, another dark corridor will appear. Take this until an open doorway appears on the left side. This leads up to the security room. The VIP Keycard will be on the desk directly beneath the security monitors.
How to get the Guest Keycard
As with the VIP Keycard, players will need the Maintenance Keycard and the VIP Keycard to get the Guest Keycard.
The Guest Keycard is in a cave on the island’s western side. Again, between the beach and the mountainside. Fortunately, like the others the friendly pulsing green point of interest on the mini-map does the job of marking it’s location. But an old, overgrown golf cart also serves as a visual landmark to the entrance.
The cave’s passage leads to another underground bunker complex. Through the corridor and past the 3D Printer room, there’s another corridor with locked door. Opening the door with the Maintenance A Keycard will take players into an abandoned gym.
To get to the Guest Keycard, players should head through the gym and the spa area until they reach the dining area. Head up the stairs and into the back room. The Guest Keycard, belonging to Arnold Crand, can be found in the backroom, on top of a glass table.
