The latest Insider Episode for the upcoming Suicide Squad game reveals The Joker will be the game’s first DLC character.
Rocksteady Studios’ first title post the culmination of the Arkham series has faced quite an uphill battle. The game’s focus on live service has been blasted by many, not to mention story leaks have fractured the fanbase even more.
Previous leaks pointed to new playable villains joining the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League post the game’s conclusion, although how they would appear was yet to be revealed.
Those questions have now been answered as Season 1 sees The Joker join the cast, at least, his Elseworlds version.
The Joker is the first DLC character for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
The Insider Episodes have been Rocksteady’s method of showing more footage and gameplay details to fans. The previous trailers have shown new characters, story beats, and elemental statuses are all core features in this game.
Episode three confirms the rumors of post-launch characters, with The Joker being the first to join. The video goes on to explain this version of the villain is his “Elseworld” persona, who’s still coming into his own.

The announcement begins at 7:59 mark.
In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Elseworld characters are a part of Brainiac’s scheme, where he aims to create new worlds in alternate realities. This narrative element will tie into future seasons, as new characters will also join via this method, letting Rocksteady build up a portfolio of characters.
Along with the Joker reveal, Warner Bros. shared a roadmap for the upcoming title. March 2024 kicks off the first season of content, headlined by the Joker.
A new playable environment, new weapons, and many more DC-themed goodies join the title. There’s also a sneak peek at seasons two through four, each themed after a different villain.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on February 2, 2024. That said, if you preorder the deluxe edition, you get to play three days before the official launch date.
