With the Resident Evil 3 Remake development nearing completion, we take a look at when you can expect the acclaimed title to hit shelves or, given the current global situation, online markets for download.
The original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis released way back in 1999, garnering both critical and commercial success upon release. This popularity has spearheaded the movement to get the game remade, wishes which were met by developers Capcom in 2019, when they announced a remake would be on its way.
Since then, fan anticipation has been pretty high, as players relish the opportunity to replay the missions of Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliviera.
The original game saw Valentine and Oliviera traversing a zombie apocalypse, all while being hunted an intelligent bio-weapon known as ‘nemesis’. As this game represents a standard remake, we can expect a more or less identical story, albeit with much-improved graphics and game design.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake Release Date
With the announcement taking place back in December 2019, many fans expected a late 2020 release. However, Capcom have impressed almost everyone by announcing that Resident Evil 3’s remake will drop on April 3, 2020.
This is roughly five months since the remake was confirmed, meaning fans haven’t had to do nearly as much waiting as they do for other titles. The Last of Us 2, for example, is scheduled for a May 2020 release and was announced in late 2016.

Each edition of the RE3 remake was set to launch with a “Resident Evil Resistance” multiplayer game, for which a beta was supposed to launch on March 27. However, a last-minute hitch saw it only release on Xbox One, with the PC and PS4 versions being delayed.
Due to technical issues, there is a delay for the RE Resistance Open Beta on PS4 and Steam. The XB1 version is unaffected and is available. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as we can and will keep you updated. Apologies for the inconvenience.

At the time of writing, there have been no further updates on the status of the beta, but Capcom will be hoping to get the beta up and running as soon as possible.
This will allow players to familiarize themselves with what’s new before the game’s full release on April 3.
