Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department have confirmed the name of the suspect behind the mass shooting at a Madden 19 tournament in the city.
Police said that 24-year-old David Katz – who was participating at the tournament– killed two people before turning the gun on himself. There are no other suspects.
According to Mike Williams, the Sheriff of Jacksonville, the mass shooting had 14 total victims, 12 from gunshot wounds and two more from other injuries. Three fatalities, including David Katz, have been confirmed. Of the remaining victims nine are in hospital with gunshot wounds, and all are said to be in a stable condition.
Williams stated that Katz used at least a hand gun and the FBI is continuing the investigation regarding the weapons used in the tragedy.

Katz was a competitor in a Madden tournament being held at the site of the shooting and is a resident of Baltimore, Maryland.
He was known in the Madden community as ‘Bread,’ but recently changed his gamertag to RavensChamp.

Katz won the 2017 Buffalo Bills Madden Championship.
The event was a regional satellite tournament to qualify for the Madden 19 Classic major in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Jacksonville police are still investigating the motive in the mass shooting, only confirming that Katz was a participant.
Katz lost early in the tournament and was not active in the round of 16 at the time of the shooting.
