Lyney is a Fontaine character in Genshin Impact. Here’s everything you need to know about this unreleased unit.

Lyney is a 5-star Pyro DPS in Genshin Impact. He is a charged bow character with an interesting passive: his damage increases on enemies affected by Pyro in the game.

This, in turn, increases Lyney’s damage by several folds, and once you build him properly, he can be on par with other DPS like Yoimiya. The only issue is that the Pyro application does not work on every enemy, and the game currently lacks a Hydro character who can synergize with Lyney.

Lydney appears alongside Arlecchino on banners during phase 1 of the version 4.6 update. You can pull for Lyney and Arlecchino from April 24, 2024, to May 14, 2024.

Lyney has some really powerful skills in this game

Normal Attack- Card Force Translocation

Normal Attack

Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Plunging Attack

Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Charged Attack

Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.

Grim-Malkin Hat

• Can taunt nearby opponents and attract their attacks. Each opponent can only be taunted by the Hat once every 5s.
• The Hat’s endurance is a percentage of Lyney’s Max HP.
• If destroyed, or if its duration expires, it will fire off a Pyrotechnic Strike at 1 nearby opponent, dealing Pyro DMG.

1 Hat can exist at any given time.

Arkhe: Pneuma

At certain intervals, when the Prop Arrow hits an opponent, a Spiritbreath Thorn will descend on that opponent’s location, dealing Pneuma-aligned Pyro DMG.

Elemental Skill- Bewildering Light

Lyney does a flourish with his hat, unleashing a firework surprise. When used, he will clear all current Prop Surplus stacks and deal AoE Pyro DMG to opponents in front of him. DMG will be increased according to the stacks cleared, and this will also regenerate Lyney’s HP based on his Max HP.

Elemental Burst- Wondrous Trick: Miracle Parade

Lyney turns himself into a Grin-Malkin cat that can move around quickly. When the cat gets close to opponents, it will send flames falling down on them, dealing at most 1 instance of Pyro DMG to each opponent. When the duration ends or Lyney uses his Elemental Skill, he will dimiss the cat and ignite fireworks that deal AoE Pyro DMG, summon 1 Grin-Malkin hat, and grant himself 1 prop surplus stat.

• Level 1 – Whimsical Wonders: Lyney can have 2 Grin-Malkin Hats present at once. Additionally, Prop Arrows will summon 2 Grin-Malkin Hats and grant Lyney 1 extra stack of Prop Surplus.
• Level 2 – Loquacious Cajoling: When Lyney is on the field, he will gain a stack of Crisp Focus every 2s. This will increase his CRIT DMG by 20%. Max 3 stacks. This effect will be canceled when Lyney leaves the field.
• Level 3 – Prestidigitation: Increase the Level of Normal Attack: Card Force Translocation by 3. Maximum upgrade is Level 15.
• Level 4 – Well-Versed, Well-Rehearsed: After an opponent is hit by Lyney’s Pyro Charged Attack, this opponent’s Pyro RES will be decreased by 20% for 6s.
• Level 5 – To Pierce Enigmas: Increase the Level of Wonderous Trick: Miracle Parade by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Level 6 – Guarded Smile: When Lyney fires a Prop Arrow, he will fire a Pyrotechnic Strike: Reprised that will deal 100% of Pyrotechnic Strike’s DMG. This DMG is considered Charged Attack DMG.

Best Lyney Artifacts in Genshin Impact

The best Artifact set for Lyney in Genshin Impact is Marechaussee Hunter. The set bonus for this artifact set has been provided below:

2-piece bonus: Normal and Charged Attack DMG + 15%

4-piece bonus: CRIT Rate is increased by 12% for 5 seconds, whenever the current HP increases or decreases. This effect can stack up to 3 times.

Alternatively, you could run the 4-piece Vermillion Hereafter set on Lyney, which requires him to use his Elemental Burst before attacking. You can find the set bonus below:

2-piece bonus: ATK +18%.

4-piece bonus: After using an Elemental Burst, this character will gain the Nascent Light effect, increasing their ATK by 8% for 16s. When the character’s HP decreases, their ATK will further increase by 10%. This further increase can occur this way a maximum of 4 times. This effect can be triggered once every 0.8s. Nascent Light will be dispelled when the character leaves the field. If an Elemental Burst is used again during the duration of Nascent Light, the original Nascent Light will be dispelled.

Best Lyney Weapons in Genshin Impact

The best weapon for Lyney in Genshin Impact is 5-star bow, The First Great Magic. This weapon increases DMG dealt by Charged attacks by 16%. Now, if every party member has the same elemental type as the wielder, then they will gain 1 Gimmick stack.

However, if every party member has a different elemental type, then the wielder will gain 1 Theatrics stack. If the wielder has 1/2/3 Gimmick stacks, ATK is increased by 16%/32%/48%. If the wielder has 1/2/3 Theatrics stacks, Movement SPD is increased by 4%/7%/10%. This weapon also provides CRIT Damage as a secondary stat.

This weapon can only be obtained from the weapon banner whenever it becomes available. However, if you want an alternate option, then Yelan’s best-in-slot weapon, Aqua Simulacra is an exceptional option for Lyney.

Lastly, in terms of a 4-star option, Scion of the Blazing Sun. This weapon provides CRIT Rate through its secondary stat. This weapon is quite unique as after an opponent gets hit by a Charged Attack, the enemy will be hit by a Sunfire Arrow that deals 60% ATK as DMG and also inflict them with Heartsearer.

This effect means the opponent will take 28% more Charged Attack Damage from the wielder. This weapon is part of the Battle Pass and can be unlocked by reaching level 30.

Best Lyney Team Comp in Genshin Impact

Lyney is a DPS unit and he needs partners who can enhance it. The best team partners for Lyney in Genshin Impact are Bennett, Xiangling, and Sucrose. This team will not only provide raw buffs to Lyney through Bennett and Sucrose but also add a sub-DPS source in Xiangling to make content clearing easy.

You can also replace Surcrose with Kazuha as he will perform a similar sort of role, but a lot better. Lastly, the Anemo units can be substituted with Zhongli if you feel that it is difficult to stay alive during fights.

It is also possible to replace Xiangling with Dehya as she can stop any form of interruptions for Lyney during his DPS phase.
