Mika is a 4-star Cryo Polearm user who can buff Physical DPS characters in Genshin Impact. Here’s what you’ll need to build him effectively.

Introduced as the front-line surveyor of the Knights of Favonius, Mika is the younger brother of Huffman. One day, the Cryo character and Mondstadt native hopes to become a skilled cartographer.

In combat, Mika can act as a support by healing and buffing his teammates. He can also attack his foes with melee and ranged attacks.

Mika abilities in Genshin Impact

Normal Attack: Spear of Favonius – Point Passage

  • Normal Attack: Perform up to 5 consecutive strikes using his crossbow and spear.
  • Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.
  • Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Elemental Skill: Starfrost Swirl

Mika uses his crossbow to attack, granting nearby active characters in your party Soulwind, which increases their ATK SPD.Will take effect in different ways if Tapped or Held.

TapFires a Flowfrost Arrow that can pierce though opponents, dealing Cryo DMG to enemies it comes into contact with.

HoldGoes into Aiming Mode, locking on to an opponent and firing a Rimestar Flare at them, dealing Cryo DMG. When the Rimestar Flare hits, it will rise before exploding, launching Rimestar Shards into a maximum of 3 other opponents, dealing Cryo DMG.

Elemental Burst: Skyfeather Song

Derives the ability to spur his teammates on from the recited prayers of the knightly order, regenerating HP for all nearby party members. This healing is based on Mika’s Max HP, and will grant them the Eagleplume state.

EagleplumeWhen the Normal Attacks of characters affected by Eagleplume hit an opponent, Mika will help them regenerate HP based on his Max HP.Characters affected by this state can only regenerate HP in this way once per short interval of time.

Passive Talents

  • Demarcation: Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Mondstadt on the mini-map.
  • Suppressive Barrage: The Soulwind state caused by Starfrost Swirl will grant characters the Detector effect under the following circumstances and in the following ways, increasing their Physical DMG by 10%.
    • If the Flowfrost Arrow hits more than one opponent, each additional opponent hit will generate 1 Detector stack.
    • When a Rimestar Shard hits an opponent, it will generate 1 Detector stack. Each Rimestar Shard can trigger the effect 1 time.
    • The Soulwind state can have a maximum of 3 Detector stacks, and if Starfrost Swirl is cast again during this duration, the pre-existing Soulwind state and all its Detector stacks will be cleared.

  • Topographical Mapping: When a character simultaneously affected by Skyfeather Song‘s Eagleplume and Starfrost Swirl‘s Soulwind scores a CRIT Hit with their attacks, Soulwind will grant them 1 stack of Detector from Suppressive Barrage. During a single instance of Eagleplume, 1 Detector stack can be gained in this manner.
    • Additionally, the maximum number of stacks that can be gained through Soulwind alone is increased by 1. Requires Suppressive Barrage to be unlocked first.

Mika constellations in Genshin Impact

  • Level One – Factor Confluence: The Soulwind state of Starfrost Swirl can decrease the healing interval between instances caused by Skyfeather Song‘s Eagleplume state. This decrease percentage is equal to the ATK SPD increase provided by Soulwind.
  • Level Two – Companion’s Ingress: When  Starfrost Swirl‘s Flowfrost Arrow first hits an opponent, or its Rimestar Flare hits opponents, 1 Detector stack from Passive Talent “Suppressive Barrage” will be generated. You must have unlocked the Passive Talent “Suppressive Barrage” first.
  • Level Three – Reconnaissance Experience: Increases Level of Skyfeather Song by 3.Maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Level Four – Sunfrost Encomium: When Mika’s own Skyfeather Song‘s Eagleplume state heal other party members, this will restore 3 Energy to Mika. This form of Energy restoration can occur 5 times during the Eagleplume state created by 1 use of Skyfeather Song.
  • Level Five – Signal Arrow: Increases the Level of Starfrost Swirl by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Level Six – Companion’s Counsel: The maximum number of Detector stacks that Starfrost Swirl‘s Soulwind can gain is increased by 1. You need to have unlocked the Passive Talent “Suppressive Barrage” first. Additionally, characters affected by Soulwind will deal 60% more Physical CRIT DMG.

Best Mika artifacts in Genshin Impact

Mika and Jean in Genshin Impact

The best artifact set to choose for Mika would be the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige. This set allows Mika to better buff his teammates when using his Elemental Burst. You’ll want to increase his Energy Recharge to allow him to use his Elemental Burst more often.

Alternatively, you can pick 2-piece Ocean-Hued Clam and 2-piece Tenacity of the Millelith if you wish to utilize Mika as a healer.

Ocean-Hued Clam Genshin ImpactOcean-Hued Clam 2-piece bonus: Healing Bonus +15%4-piece bonus: When the character equipping this artifact set heals a character in the party, a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3 seconds, accumulating the amount of HP recovered from healing (including overflow healing). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG to nearby opponents based on 90% of the accumulated healing. (This DMG is calculated similarly to Reactions such as Electro-Charged, and Superconduct, but is not affected by Elemental Mastery, Character Levels, or Reaction DMG Bonuses).

Only one Sea-Dyed Foam can be produced every 3.5 seconds. Each Sea-Dyed Foam can accumulate up to 30,000 HP (including overflow healing). There can be no more than one Sea-Dyed Foam active at any given time. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

Tenacity of the MillelithTenacity of the Millelith 2-piece bonus: HP +20%4-piece bonus: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

Best Mika weapons in Genshin Impact

The best weapon to choose for Mika is the 5-star Polearm Engulfing Lightning, which is also Raiden Shogun’s signature. If you don’t have access to this weapon, you can also use the 4-star option Favonius Lance or even the 3-star Black Tassel.

Engulfing LightningEngulfing Lightning ATK increased by 28% of Energy Recharge over the base 100%. You can gain a maximum bonus of 80% ATK. Gain 30% Energy Recharge for 12s after using an Elemental Burst.
Favonius Lance in Genshin ImpactFavonius Lance Increases ATK by 20%. On hit, attacks against enemies with less than 30% HP increases all party members’ ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.
Black Tassel in Genshin ImpactBlack Tassel After triggering Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, a Leaf of Consciousness will be created around the character for a maximum of 10s. When picked up, the Leaf will grant the character 60 Elemental Mastery for 12s. Only 1 Leaf can be generated this way every 20s. This effect can still be triggered if the character is not on the field. The Leaf of Consciousness’ effect cannot stack.

Best Mika team comp in Genshin Impact

The best Mika team composition would be alongside Eula, Raiden Shogun, and Shenhe. These party members would ensure teammates receive the needed energy for their attacks. This comp would utilize the Superconduct Elemental Reaction and buff Eula as a Main DPS.
