The majority of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans will tell you that Nintendo has already assembled possibly one of the deepest and most well-rounded rosters in fighting game history, but not many would object to the idea of adding one of Microsoft’s biggest characters to the arena.
Halo’s Master Chief is one of the most iconic video game figures of its generation and has not featured in any titles outside of the franchise. Halo content has always been exclusive for Xbox players.
There’s a slight chance that this stance might have somewhat shifted in recent times, though, based on an interesting interaction on social media.
Twitter’s official gaming account, @TwitterGaming, asked its followers which character they would like to see be added to the Smash roster in the future, so they could rate each selection from fans.
However, it wasn’t just fans that got involved. In fact, they might have even got a lot more than they bargained for when the official Halo account responded with a Master Chief gif.

Now, while it might be merely speculation at this stage, there’s no doubt that having Master Chief lock horns with the likes of Super Mario, Donkey Kong and Princess Peach in the popular fighting game would be fun for all involved.
With data miners having previously leaked that there could be up to 10 more empty roster slots to fill in the future, it’s possible that more additions will be made to the game in due course.
There’s a very good chance that this was simply a tease and nothing more than that. Yet, it won’t stop fans thinking of what it would be like to have such a high profile character – which isn’t from a Nintendo exclusive franchise – make a surprise entrance to the fighting arena someday.
