Helldivers 2 cheaters are now maxing out players’ progress bars, ruining the grind for all of those impacted.
Helldivers 2 continues to prove incredibly popular amongst gamers around the world, with thousands logging in every day to fight for the freedom of Super Earth. Although the game is purely a PvE experience and has no plans for adding PvP, that hasn’t stopped certain players from cheating.
One of the most common Helldivers 2 cheats is running unlimited ammo and increasing weapon fire rate. This enables players to effortlessly take down hordes of enemies without breaking a sweat, completely trivializing the game’s adrenaline-fueled combat. However, a new cheat has arisen, ruining players’ progress and their account progression.
Helldivers 2 cheaters are ruining game progression
Part of what makes Helldivers 2 so fun is unlocking new weapons and armor, and kitting your trooper out with some well-earned upgrades. Like most live service games, the grind is all part of the fun, and unlocking new Stratagems feels rewarding.
This is especially true when you’ve been looking forward to certain unlocks. However, one unfortunate player has had their progress bar completely maxed out after a cheater joined their lobby.
“A cheater made our Sample payout maxed out beyond the limit and ruined my progress experience,” posted diceNslice on the Helldivers 2 Reddit page. Can I get a dev to roll back my progress to before I played this match?”

Others in the comments were keen to stress that this isn’t the first time a player has been impacted by Sample cheats. In fact, there are several threads with players reporting how cheaters are maxing out Samples to buy all the game’s ship module upgrades.
While the devs are aware of this issue and have urged players to contact customer support, the game’s community is fearful that such cheats could ruin the overall gameplay experience.
“Honestly think about it. If you are making your way through the game then all of a sudden you play one mission, come out of it with max everything — what is the point in continuing? The incentive is gone,” replied one player. “Sure you’ll have all upgrades and guns and all but the fun has completely been sucked out of the game. Especially if you haven’t earned it.”
If you do happen to be in a lobby with a cheater who has maxed out your Samples, be sure to report them and then either kick said cheater or leave the game before extraction. Failing that, head over to the official Helldivers 2 support page and notify the devs.
