Mechs have finally arrived in Helldivers 2 but as more players get their hands on them, the more they feel underwhelmed by Mech’s capability.
Helldivers 2 has impressively managed to string together a huge feat, not many live service titles can say they’ve successfully achieved, and that’s being to rally the player base for shared goals at the drop of a dime.
Just this week, players rushed to Tien Kwan to liberate the planet from Automatons. Doing this unlocked the EXO-45 Patriots Exosuits for combat after a few leaks showed Mechs were inbound.
However, the actual implementation of Mechs in Helldivers 2 has seemingly left some players a little disappointed.
Helldivers 2 players meme Exosuit Mechs
In a post shared to the Helldivers 2 subreddit, a player shared their spin on the iconic car salesman meme, as the Mech falls apart mid-sale after a meaty freedom slap.
“For context, even the Spikey Plant-things can kill them,” the OP said. This highlighted a portion of the community’s sentiments on the Mechs: their health is underwhelming or straight-up bugged.

Many players shared their experiences with the Mechs which all followed a similar trend to the meme.
“If you turn too fast and shoot a rocket the mech hits itself and dies, happened two times to me and a friend tonight,” one player shared. Another said: “The first and only time I tested them so far, was during extract in one of those bases full of boxes. A box exploded and so did my mech.”
Others shared their feedback on Mechs with players hopeful an upgrade system arrives sometime in the future, with abilities like jumping or dashing.
Mechs in Helldivers 2 raises an interesting point; if the devs made them too strong, the “meta” would’ve focused on Mech-only loadouts. However, where it stands, they seem a little too weak according to players.
