Helldivers 2 fans have had enough of one key player mistake that’s costing Super Earth some major planet losses.
Sure, Helldivers 2 does include some epic battles with tricky Terminids and Automatons, but you’re doing it for democracy and therefore you’ll often have to be a little more tactical with your battles. After all, no one wants either enemy to take over a planet and get closer to Super Earth.
However, in the battle for liberty, some players seem to be going about these tactics all wrong, and now other players are urging some fans to complete their missions, or they’re soon to face some major planet losses.
Helldivers need to complete full missions or face planet losses
Sharing their PSA to the Helldivers 2 Reddit, one user revealed that “farmers are losing us planet” highlighting how the journey to leveling up, grabbing samples, or just getting rich fast can be negatively impacting democracy and the planet’s success.
“When you only do the quick kill missions and abandon the rest of the campaign, it gives a W to the enemy as far as the planetwide/galactic campaign is concerned. Just to be clear: credit for the win/loss on a planet is determined on an OPERATION basis, not a mission basis. You think you’re quick farming XP and Requisition, but you’re really quick farming losses for Super Earth” added the poster.
Essentially, when you log into a game on Helldivers 2, you’re usually able to pick between two or more missions in that section. Whenever you complete that mission you get rewards, but it doesn’t add to the win rate on the planet unless you complete all the missions in that section – meaning the Automatons or Terminids are much more likely to take over.

The post itself quickly went viral, with many fans airing their frustrations. However, one player highlighted how they “think part of the problem is the defense campaigns always include an evacuation mission, which is imo by far the hardest mission type in the game exasperated by some absolutely ridiculous enemy spawns at higher levels.”
Defense campaigns can take players quite a long time and are constantly labeled as tricky – so many fans may just head out of the game shortly after, or fail the mission which will result in a loss.
Other players highlighted how the post and the PSA “won’t change people’s minds” They went on to say how the devs could promote players to complete the full operations: “Only way to make campaigns successful is to give the players worthy rewards. If major orders awarded, a special armor, medals or samples. More people would focus on the order and offset the farmers.”
While many aired their frustration, one user revealed that they “had no idea that only completing the entire operation rewarded towards the cause, I’m sure most people just don’t know that yet.”
Whether it’s a lack of knowledge, or just a desire to grab more samples, money, and XP, it’s clear Super Eartch could be in danger if players keep abandoning missions.
