Counter Logic Gaming is reportedly planning to build their 2021 roster around European stars Mads ‘Broxah’ Brock-Pedersen and Finn ‘Finn’ Wiestål, as the former LCS contenders look to return to title glory in the franchised league.

According to IWillDominate, CLG has signed both LEC stars to their LoL roster heading into 2021 in an effort to return to playoffs.
Counter Logic Gaming plans to retain star mid laner Eugene ‘Pobelter’ Park and support Andy ‘Smoothie’ Ta. This means Kim ‘Ruin’ Hyeong-min, Raymond ‘Wiggily’ Griffin, and CLG’s former franchise player Trevor ‘Stixxay’ Hayes will all be shown the door.
The North American organization is expected to round their roster out with Matthew ‘Deftly’ Chen. The bot laner will likely require a buyout, as the LCS Academy starter is still under contract with Evil Geniuses.
Finn would also require a deal with current team Rogue. He is contracted with the European organization until 2022. Broxah, on the other hand, is a free agent.

Counter Logic Gaming have suffered a sharp fall from grace in competitive League of Legends over the past few years. The founding LCS team has twice won the North American league, and finished second behind SKT T1 at MSI in 2016.
The team has failed to make a final since, however. CLG have twice finished third, in 2017 and 2019, but have fallen behind old rivals like Team SoloMid, Cloud9, and even Team Liquid since the American league moved to a franchised format.
CLG finished dead last in Spring, before narrowly avoiding back-to-back wooden spoons in Summer despite winning just a single game in the final five weeks of play.
The general consensus is the leaked Counter Logic Gaming roster won’t go far to solve their modern LoL woes. Broxah has been less than impressive since arriving in North America and Finn was exposed at Worlds against League’s biggest stars.
Nothing is set in stone just yet, however. CLG may yet alter plans, and build around different pieces. Dexerto will keep you updated as the offseason unfolds.
