G2 Esports League of Legends star Marcin ‘Jankos’ Jankowski revealed why he thinks only one team stands in G2’s way at the World Championships.
G2 are considered to be one of the best teams in the world and have dominated the LoL scene in 2019, winning both the Spring and Summer split in Europe as well as the Mid-Season Invitational.
However, the upcoming LoL World Championships are still as unpredictable as ever, with multiple teams looking strong in their regional matches. Regardless, the Polish player is still extremely confident in G2 heading into the tournament.
The G2 jungler spoke with eweszlo on September 18, revealing exactly why he is so confident and why he thinks only one team has a chance to stop them from winning.

“I think we can beat everyone. We’ve played against iG, RNG, and SKT, we managed to beat SKT and since they’re the #1 seed in Korea, we can probably beat teams like Griffin and DAMWON” said the Polish player.

Even so, there was one team that the Polish jungler singled out as one that could stop them, their European rivals Fnatic. “Europe is gonna win Worlds – be it us or Fnatic” he said, before adding that he is constantly surprised by how difficult the matches against Fnatic are.
Jankos also revealed a possible tactic change that may give G2 an edge. The team may slow down and reduce their aggression, as they feel it’s a double-edged sword.
Being aggressive sometimes allows them to dominate games in 20 minutes, but he knows the top-level teams won’t always make mistakes, and claims that “we’d want to chill out with the aggression a bit and take less risks”, meaning longer games may become more favorable for the European squad.
Fans will be able to see how far G2 can go from October 12, when the LoL World Championship Main Event kicks off and the best teams battle it out in the biggest League tournament of the year.
