G2 Esports star Marcin ‘Jankos’ Jankowski explains why League of Legends’ newest Champion, Aphelios, is “broken” during his stream.
Aphelios hasn’t had the most welcome arrival to Summoner’s Rift, with players complaining about both the strength and design of the Champion, resulting in him being nerfed in every patch since his release.
Even the professional players seem displeased and Jankos explained what he feels makes him “broken” after reviewing the footage of G2 vs Fnatic in a LEC Spring Season match.
The Polish player was streaming League when he got stuck in a long queue for a game, so he decided to watch some highlights of his latest pro match.
He was calmly analyzing the game and sharing some insight on how the team felt at the time when a certain moment with Aphelios came up that sent him into a rant.
“How broken is Aphelios right… he almost gets one-shot and then look at his life steal! Look at it, just look. Look! He’s full hp! How?!” He said, watching the Champion heal to full health in just a few seconds.

Jankos wasn’t impressed with his healing and went back to re-watch the clip, sharing that his team was stunned by Aphelios being back at full health.
“He’s on like 50 health and it took him just four seconds and he’s full. You know, our communication in-game was like, ok guys, Aphelios is very low we can fight… [then] we see Aphelios is full HP!”
The G2 jungler clearly sees the high amount of life steal as a huge problem with LoL’s newest character, and it was quite shocking to see him heal to full health so fast – something no other Champions can do, especially with no life steal items.
Aphelios is set to receive even more nerfs in League of Legends’ next patch, 10.4, perhaps that will bring him more in line with other AD-carries.
