G2 Esports have revealed their roster for the 2022 LEC season, two months after revealing plans to make sweeping changes to the lineup.
After announcing a rebuild project for their League of Legends team on in October, G2 have now revealed their lineup for the 2022 LEC season.
The roster will feature two LEC rookies and a new veteran top laner alongside the only retained players, Marcin ‘Jankos’ Jankowski and Rasmus ‘Caps’ Borregaard Winther.
The new roster will look to bounce back after missing Worlds in 2021, the first time the org had failed to make the international tournament since debuting at it in 2016.
New look for G2
The only familiar pieces at the iconic, Berlin-based organization are jungler Jankos and mid laner Caps. 2022 sees G2 add three new players and a brand new coaching staff.
On December 1, G2 began their roster announcement with confirmation they had hired LEC Business Development Manager Romain Biegard as the team’s new General Manager. The following day they announced the team’s new head coach, former Schalke 04 coach Dylan Falco.
Now they have revealed their roster for 2022.

- Top laner Sergen ‘BrokenBlade’ Çelik
- Jungler Jankos
- Mid laner Caps
- AD carry Victor ‘Flakked’ Lirola
- Support Raphaël ‘Targamas’ Crabbé
BrokenBlade joins from former LEC side Schalke 04. Flakked and Targamas both join from European Regional League teams, Flakked from MAD Lions Madrid and Targamas from Karmine Corp.
After missing Worlds in 2021, G2 have opted to pursue promising youth prospects for their strategy to bounce back in 2022.
G2 is one of several LEC teams who retooled their roster ahead of 2022. Long-time rivals Fnatic are reportedly replacing three players while Team Vitality is expected to debut a superteam led by former G2 star Luka ‘Perkz’ Perković
With the LEC season starting on January 14, fans don’t have long to wait to see how this new roster stacks up in Europe’s premier League of Legends league.
