The professional League of Legends season for 2020 is about to kick off, with the LEC and LCS returning on the same weekend.
League of Legends fans have had a break from major competition since FunPlus Phoenix were crowned the 2019 World Champions in November 2019, but now the various domestic leagues around the world are returning.
For western fans, the biggest attractions will be Europe’s LEC and North America’s LCS, which are returning on January 24 and 25 respectively. Many teams have used the offseason to build new rosters for the coming year, and this will fans’ chance to see their debut.
The LEC will follow the same format that fans are used to, with games on Fridays and Saturdays, but the LCS has made a slight change for 2020. While there will still be matches on Saturdays and Sundays, the weekly schedule has also been extended to Monday evenings, with the same number of games as before now spread across the three days.
Here’s everything you need to know to catch the return of the LEC and the LCS this weekend.
