League of Legends developers Riot Games have provided fans with an update on their 2020 content plans as the team shifts to working from home.
During the LoL 10-year anniversary stream, Riot Games announced big plans for 2020 with the release of Valorant and hinted at much more content being released for their fans in the coming year.
However, due to the ongoing global crisis, there had been some concerns around the future of their plans and they provided an update on March 27, detailing what players can expect.
Many popular titles have seen a spike in player count as quarantines have started to come into effect all around the world.
As a developer of one of the most popular global games, League of Legends producer Joe ‘New001’ Tung explained what was in store for fans during these ‘uncertain’ times.
He revealed that as Riot employees would be working from home, they were unsure if they would be able to match previous expectations, however, he claimed that they would be doing their best to try.

“Well the truth is we’re in uncharted territory, right now we’re in the process of figuring out what the impact will be on our roadmap” he shared.
Although he did not go into specifics, Joe revealed uncertainty around some of the planned features, “We can’t say for sure that there won’t be any impact on the features and content that we had planned for this year.”
Despite initially postponing all of the LoL leagues and events, he added that they are also working on finding alternative ways to resume play for as many leagues and events as possible.
He also revealed that Riot Games had donated over $3.5 million for medical supplies to aid the ongoing crisis and would be looking for other ways to provide support where it’s needed.
