League of Legends patch 2025.S1.1 notes: Noxus map, Atakhan, Boot upgrades & more

League of Legends patch 15.1Riot Games

Patch 15.1 ushers in the Noxus map, a massive boots overhaul based around Feats of Strength, Atakhan, a teleport rework, and a whole lot more as League of Legends steps into 2025.

It’s been a long time since the League of Legends map saw a full makeover. Sure, it’s had some slight changes based around big esports events with some flags placed around the map and a few changes to how Baron looks, but nothing the likes of what the Noxus map is doing.

A brand-new jungle monster in Atakhan, new turrets, some small map geometry changes, a new color, and even new music are coming to Summoner’s Rift to kick off 2025. We’ve even got a trailer that confirms Mel Medarda and visual updates for both LeBlanc and Vladimir.

Additionally, League of Legends will be ditching its old naming convention for patch notes this year, replacing it with a notation that indicates which of the three splits it lands on. So, this will be patch 2025.S1.1.

LoL patch 15.1 (now known as 2025.S1.1) notes

Map Changes

The Season of Noxus has arrived! With it comes a new look for Summoner’s Rift, but also a significant update to the way everything on the map functions.

Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin

AtakhanRiot Games

Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin spawns at 20 minutes on the side of the map that has seen the most kills/deaths by 14 minutes. If there are no kills, it’ll be based on the side that took the most damage.

When he spawns, along with him will come an arena that adds map terrain. He also drops Blood Roses on the map that grant a permanent power buff and some XP for your entire team. There are also two variants of Atakhan, both of which have different movesets and buffs they grant upon being killed.

Ruinous Atakhan spawns in high-kill games where both teams are duking it out. Killing him grants bonus Blood Petals to the team who gets the final hit on him and spawns more Roses in the area to collect additional Petals. He also grants a 25% increase to all Epic monster rewards, including rewards already earned, and spawns several Blood Rose plants around his pit.

Voracious Atakhan spawns in slower games with less kills and is a much bigger threat in the short-term. The buffs he grants reads as follows:

Article continues after ad
  • False Life: For the next 150 seconds, the first time you would die, you instead go into Stasis for 5.5 seconds and teleport to your team’s spawn. Your would-be killer instead earns 1 Blood Petal and 100 Gold
    • Your team now permanently gain 40 bonus gold on champion takedown
      • Keep in mind this is takedown and not kill. If your entire team participates in a kill, that’s 200 bonus gold across your team.

Atakhan only spawns once per game, but more Blood Roses will spawn on the map over time, with them commonly spawning on the corpses of champions who die on the map.

Blood Roses grant the following buffs:

  • Each petal gives the player that picked it up’s team 25 XP (increasing by up to 100% based on their K/D/A with a lower K/D/A offering more experience) and 1 to 0.33 Adaptive Force. Petals can be gained primarily through hitting a Blood Rose (a large one drops 6 petals while a small one drops 3) although they can be obtained through other ways like Atakhan

Objective Timers

Spawn timers are shifting around a little with this update. Rift Herald will spawn at 16 minutes, Atakhan at 20, and Baron at 25 to give each objective some time to breathe on the map.

Turrets

  • Turret fortification decreased: 85% >>> 50%
    • This is the damage reduction that turrets get from having plates up
  • Nexus turrets now respawn after 3 minutes, preventing backdoors and allowing more late-game comebacks
  • Turret heat up: +40% per shot >>> +50% per shot (250% max)
  • Turret heat up duration: 3 seconds >>> 5 seconds
    • This essentially means turret damage will scale faster and that scaling will last longer

Minions

You’re going to see a wall of stats here. First, we’ll list off everything that’s changing and then give some background on what it actually means.

Article continues after ad
  • Melee minion HP: 477-1300 at minute 1-38 >>> 465-1500 at minute 1-48
  • Melee minion Armor: 0-16 at minute 1-38 >>> 0-20 at minute 1-42
  • Melee minion AD: 12-80.2 at minute 1-38 >>> 11-80 + 2% lane minion current HP at minute 1-42
  • Ranged minion HP: 296-485 at minute 1-38 >>> 284-600 at minute 1-56
  • Ranged minion AD: 24.5-120.5 at minute 1-38 >>> 21-125 + 4% lane minion current HP at minute 1-45
  • First cannon minion: Wave 3 >>> Wave 4
  • Cannon minion HP: 912-2900 at minute 2-38 >>> 920-2960 at minute 2:30-38
  • Cannon minion AD: 41.5-77.5 at minute 2-38 >>> 39-73.5 + 6% lane minion current HP at minute 2:30-38
  • Cannon minion HP scaling stops: 175 minutes >>> 90 minutes
  • Cannon minion AD scaling stops: 7 days >>> 90 minutes
  • Super minion HP scaling stops: 150 minute >>> 90 minutes
  • Super minion AD: 230 + 5 per 1.5 minutes >>> 215 + 5 per 1.5 minutes
  • Super minion AD scaling stops: 300 minutes >>> 90 minutes
  • Minion XP range: 1400 >>> 1500
  • Minion-turret and minion-champion damage: 50% >>> 55%
  • Ambient gold start time: 1:50 >>> 1:40. Functionally everyone has 20.4 more gold

In essence, these are just minor tweaks to the way minion armor and damage scaling works. However, the big takeaways are as follows:

  • Melee minions are just slightly tankier, ranged minions are slightly squishier until late game. Stat scaling for minions generally goes later into the game than before
  • Super minions slightly nerfed
  • XP range on minions increased
  • Gold now starts spooling at 1:40 instead of 1:50

Feats of Strength & Boot Upgrades

Feats of Strength is a set of 3 objectives: First blood, first tower, and first to kill 3 epic monsters. Getting 2 of these 3 feats will grant you some pretty substantial boot upgrades for purchase, with the stipulation that you have to already own 2 legendary items to pick up a pair.

Additionally, attaining that Feats of Strength bonus will immediately upgrade each pair of boots even before you’ve got the tier 3 upgrade. Here’s what all those effects do:
