League of Legends’ most recent buffs to top laner Aatrox have accidentally broken their most important ability, The Darkin Blade.
Riot is constantly looking to make changes within League of Legends. Whether that be for better or for worse, the game is consistently on the move, with updates that can drastically shift up the meta and how the MOBA is played. These patches occur frequently throughout the year, meaning players who can adapt often benefit the most from the ever-changing environment.
Balancing is no easy task when it comes to League of Legends, however. With over 160 different champions, items, runes, and more, it can be a headache to keep track of everything that’s crammed into the title. Often times certain champions can be bugged or ignored for long periods of time, particularly if they’re not popular among players.
One champion who is incredibly popular is Aatrox, whose most recent buff has caused quite the incident for their most important ability.
LoL devs accidentally break Aatrox Q after recent buff
As shown by League of Legends bug YouTuber Vandiril, Aatrox is now suffering thanks to a nasty bug involving a recent buff.

Slated for the PBE, Aatrox’s passive Deathbringer Stance can no longer be canceled, which is a nice quality-of-life buff to reduce the jankiness of the ability. Unfortunately, it seems to have come at a cost, one far greater than the quality of life buff.
Now if Aatrox uses his Q ability right after his passive, the Q will not deal any damage or register on enemies. This is awful for Aatrox as his Q is his core damage ability and will make his combos much slower as players need to wait for his passive animation to be fully completed before launching the next attack.
This bug is currently on the PBE, meaning it’s possible Riot will issue a fix for it sometime soon before it heads to the live server.
