After nearly a dozen Prestige skins in 2019, the illustrious gold-and-white League cosmetics will be back in force in 2020, with Riot revealing their plans for them on January 15.
Prestige skins have captured League players’ attention since they debuted back in 2018. The rare gold-and-white versions of popular skins are some of the most nicely designed cosmetics in the game and are a great addition to any inventory.
There’s always excitement surrounding what champion will be getting a skin next, and Riot has let players in with which champions are next on the production line over the next six months of Season 10.
Highlighting Riot’s plans with skins and events in Season 10, League of Legends product danager Ken ‘KenAdamsNSA’ Adams let players in on a few secrets.
According to Adams, six champions will be receiving Prestige skins in the first half of 2020. Mecha Kingdoms Garen was the first one, with his skin rolling out in the Mecha Kingdoms event on January 15.
True Damage Senna is also on the way after Riot announced that she would be the second member of the five-piece rap group to get a Prestige skin after Qiyana.

However, four new names were added to that line-up. Malphite and Lucian will be receiving event-specific Prestige skins in the first half of 2020, highlighting the fact that there’ll be two more big events before July.
Zyra and Zoe will also be receiving Prestige versions of their new skin releases coming in 2020. What lines they’ll be adapting into the illustrious special edition skins is unknown, but they’re bound to excite LoL players no matter what.
2020’s Prestige lineup will also differ from 2019’s in a few ways. Firstly, they’ll have a new border and unique summoner icon for each skin. Instead of having to fork out separately for the combo, you’ll get the border and icon when you buy the skin.
This doesn’t apply to Prestige skins obtained through loot drops or skin shard rerolls though. If you obtain a Prestige skin through that manner after 2020, or when the event is finished, you’ll only get the skin without the border or icon.
If you still have Prestige Points from 2019, they’ll expire in a few short weeks. Be sure to spend them all before February 3 to grab some of last year’s skins.
