A League of Legends viewer emailed teams in the LCS to ask why they should be a fan of each organization, and one team’s response produced a clear winner.
This is the third time that LCS organizations have been asked to explain why they’re worthy of being followed, with u/Pink_Cleats beginning the trend in 2017 and u/Ryocchi following up with the same question in 2018.
This time around, u/FinitoHere took up the mantle, contacting all 10 current LCS teams to explain that he has just begun following the LCS and is looking for a team to support.
Three of the teams responded, making u/FinitoHere’s efforts the most successful yet – in 2017 Team Liquid and Echo Fox responded, while in 2018 Team Liquid replied again, the only organization to do so until Cloud9 weighed in after the post was made on the League of Legends subreddit.
This time, Counter Logic Gaming were the first to respond, and they offered a list of reasons why fans might want to support the organization, including their legacy as one of the original top NA teams in LoL, their current surge in form that has them back among the top teams for the first time in several seasons, and the peripheral content the offer around the team.
Reigning LCS champions Team Liquid responded yet again to the question. This time, they naturally fell back on their position of dominance in the league, having won the last three LCS titles, and claimed “we are, realistically, NA’s only hope to do well at Worlds.”

The clear winner, however, was Clutch Gaming, who recently merged with and will soon be rebranded as Dignitas. To convince u/FinitoHere that they should be a fan of the team, Dignitas had the team’s starting LCS mid-laner, Tanner ‘Damonte’ Damonte, record a personal message explaining the reasons he should follow them.
The full responses from each team can be seen in u/FinitoHere’s post, but it’s certainly hard to match a direct message from one of the team’s players. Team Liquid perhaps deserve bonus points, however, for consistently responding the fan queries over the years.
The LCS is getting into crunch time for the teams, with only two weeks left to play in the regular season of the Summer Split. Not only is a spot in the playoffs on the line for many teams in their final games, but victory or defeat here and in the playoffs themselves could impact their chances of reaching the World Championship.
