League of Legends’ newest champion Smolder is causing entire teams to disconnect thanks to a nasty bug with the game’s Elder Dragon.
Riot’s MOBA League of Legends has just welcomed its newest champion to the roster Smolder. Originally panned as “fugly Spyro”, the champion immediately saw a slight redesign from the developers.
Despite all this, the character has been released to marred success. The champion currently holds terrible win rates as players come to learn and understand the character’s capabilities better, with some players arguing that the champion plays more like a different role.
While we wait to see how Smolder’s win rate progresses over the coming weeks, there is one bug that could be massively boosting the statistics. This new game-breaking issue causes everyone on the enemy team to disconnect in the middle of the match, making it a free win for the Smolder.

LoL’s new champ can cause entire teams to DC
As recorded on Reddit, for some reason Smolder is causing players to disconnect when they execute champions if their team currently has the Elder Dragon buff. In the clip, Smolder arrives at a team fight in the enemy jungle, looking to close out a game with the buff provided. But for some reason the enemy team just decides to stop fighting back, netting them easy kills.
It could be possible that this is due to an issue with Smolder’s ultimate, as when they cast it the entire enemy team loses control of their champion, disconnecting and granting the Smolder player a free team fight win.
Players have been reporting a minor amount of issues about disconnecting recently, but it’s hard to tell what exactly the cause could be. However, with plenty of players getting their hands on and testing out Smolder, it may be no coincidence that the new dragon is burning up enemies’ connections.
