Riot Games have released an epic new orchestral theme ahead of the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.
The tune will be recognizable to anyone who’s ever tuned into a World Championship, as one of the most iconic pieces of music in League of Legends, but the Riot Music Team have put a new spin on it with this year’s incredible orchestral theme.
The big musical release of the year is the Worlds song, which sees Riot team up with popular artists to produce a unique anthem each year. Notable artists to feature in Worlds songs include Imagine Dragons, who performed “Warriors” in 2014, while more recently Against The Current featured on 2017’s “Legends Never Die”, and 2018’s “Rise” feature The Glitch Mob, Mako, and The Word Alive.
While 2019’s song is still to come, the new version of the orchestral theme will play a major role in the world championship, as it will likely play on the broadcast frequently during breaks, ahead of games, and possibly even during champion select.

The theme song plays over a stunning statue of white and gold marble, which the video pans across to show off champions stood beneath a massive Summoner’s Cup, flanked by both in-game icons like the Baron and Elder Dragon, as well as monuments of Europe, where this year’s Worlds will take place, such as the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe.

Veteran worlds viewers may also spot that the champions featured in the video aren’t random – each represents one of the most iconic moments in the event’s history. Included in the statue are nods to Kim ‘Pray’ Jong-in‘s legendary Ashe arrow against SK Telecom T1 in 2016, and Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok‘s Aatrox 1v4 against G2 Esports in 2018.
Fans can still look forward to the release of this year’s Worlds song imminently, as in previous years the track has never been released later than September 26. No details about the song have yet been revealed, although there has been speculation that popular violinist Lindsey Sterling might be involved.
It’s also possible that more new music may be revealed at the World Championship itself following the immense success of K/DA’s POP/STARS, which was debuted at the 2018 Worlds final. Fans recently noted listings for new K/DA music on lyrics site Genius, but Riot stated that the listings are not official.
