Popular Twitch streamer Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp was shocked after failing to climb the ranks during his ‘Unranked to Challenger’ series as a jungler in League of Legends.
Tyler1 has built a massive following of over 2.9 million followers on Twitch and is known for his high-elo League of Legends gameplay, regularly competing against the best in North America’s solo queue playlist.
However, when the popular streamer set his sights on ranking up another account to challenger, only playing as a jungler rather than his usual role as ADC, he found it to be much more difficult than expected.
Following the end of League of Legends Season 9, many jungle players were critical of Riot Games’ decision to significantly reduce the amount of XP that could be earned from jungle camps in-game.
T1, on the other hand, still felt as if the jungler position was one of the most influential roles in the game, despite the nerfs, and decided to take on the challenge of ranking up an account to Challenger elo to prove it.
Unfortunately for Tyler1, after initially being placed in the bronze division on the account, he found himself struggling to get out of the gold rank and failed his promotional series to the platinum elo four times in a row.

The streamer later reflected on a more enthusiastic clip of himself ahead of starting his climb and was stunned at his lack of progress over the course of his January 30 stream.
Tyler1 finally escapes gold
However, he managed to turn things around the following day during his January 31 broadcast and finally escaped the gold division after multiple failed attempts.
The Twitch star celebrated his achievement in classic Tyler1 fashion, staring at his new rank while loud music was blaring in the background, also shouting, “Yes! I did it, f**k yeah! That’s me!”
Despite his celebrations, Tyler1 will still have a long way to go to fully prove his point and reach challenger elo, although he seems to be making good progress regardless of his early setbacks.
