Wild Rift patch 3.3b is here — with Samira and Sion officially releasing and the game’s rebalancing revealed. The developers buffed Gragas an considerable amount, while the newly-launched Kassadin has been nerfed alongside Yuumi. Here’s the full notes.
Since Wild Rift patch 3.3b is on the smaller ends of updates, outside of the release of Samira and Sion, don’t expect anything too groundbreaking. The bigger updates tend to occur during the number changes, with the most recent being Wild Rift patch 3.3.
The biggest change of this particular patch, or at least the most controversial, is easily the buffs to AP Gragas — where Riot is returning the bruiser back to the top of the food chain. The rest of the patch balances powerful picks — like the newly-released Kassadin — alongside providing weaker champions and runes more breathing room.
Here’s everything you need to know about Wild Rift Patch 3.3b.
What’s changed in Wild Rift patch 3.3b?
Samira and Sion release in Wild Rift
Two new champions release during Wild Rift patch 3.3: Samira and Sion. The duo, who couldn’t be more different, are both releasing on August 26, 2022 at 00:01 UTC.
For those unfamiliar with these champions, here’s a brief summary of their kits.
Samira plays as a marksman in the duo lane who has a steam rolling ultimate capabilities. She plays kind of like an ADC Katarina — she spins to win with her ultimate, and gains dash resets off of kills. However, she must stack her passive from E to S by chaining non-repeating abilities (and basic attacks) to activate her ult.
Sion is an absolute unit. He’s a split pushing menace, primarily playing in the Baron lane as a tank. He has a unique mechanic, coming back alive momentarily after death. During this zombie-like mode, Sion can only auto attack, but don’t underestimate his damage in this form.
Massive Gragas buffs partner inevitable Yuumi nerfs
Leading the Wild Rift Patch 3.3b balance changes are the buffs towards AP Gragas alongside nerfs to Yuumi.
The developers buffed Yuumi three times in a row across recent updates and appeared surprised the champion was soon deemed overpowered.
As for the Gragas buffs, AP Gragas has a history of being quite strong in Wild Rift. Riot nerfed the pick many months ago, but they seem to want Gragas to become meta once again.
