One big element of Breath of the Wild that players couldn’t get enough of was Shrines. The game featured a ton of them and they gave players a breather from regular exploring and riding onward toward the game’s finale.
Some fans were vying for the return of Shrines while others hope they’ll be removed in the sequel, making their inclusion in the game inclusion hotly debated. We know now that Shrines are in Tears of the Kingdom, and here’s everything you need to know about them.

How many Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
There are a whopping 152 Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
You can find 120 of them across the land of Hyrule once you unlock the option to get back down to the surface. There are a further 32 scattered around the Sky Islands high above.

In the Great Sky Islands starting area alone, there are 4 Shrines for players to find. Once you complete a Shrines challenge, you’ll be rewarded with a Blessing of the Light and 4 of these can be given to a Goddess Statue in exchange for either an additional Heart Container or Stamina Vessel.
What are Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Shrines in Tears of the Kingdom consist of dungeon-like puzzles that would reward players who would solve them.
If you successfully complete them, then you will be rewarded with Lights of Blessing. These can be redeemed for more Health and Stamina upgrades for Link. Alongside netting you valuable rewards, locating Shrines will also activate them as fast travel, making navigating the world much easier.
