Legends of Runeterra is hitting mobiles very shortly, with iOS and Android players in North America and various parts of Asia noting they have gotten access to the handheld version of the League of Legends-inspired card game.
Legends of Runeterra has taken the card game world by storm since its reveal back in October 2019 as part of the League 10 celebration.
It was a prime candidate for a mobile port, and while people were expecting to wait for the game’s full launch before picking it up in their hand, Legends of Runeterra has started shipping to mobile players across all devices as of March 10.
News of the launch started circulating after redditor ‘Nicholades’ posted a screenshot of the Singaporean Google Play Store showing Legends of Runeterra as downloadable, not just open for pre-register.
They noted they were able to play it, but it was “only out for Singapore” at that time. Players also noted it was hosted under Riot’s servers and they couldn’t use their Garena accounts to log-in, meaning that it won’t be region-specific for long.

Hours later, players from North America were able to log in, although it’s unclear as to whether they downloaded the APK or it’s live on the store in the region.

Players have noted that if they logged in from the US using the Singaporean APK, their progress was wiped, so maybe avoid trying to work around the loophole and wait until the global rollout is completed.
While there isn’t any official word from Riot as to when it’ll be going live across all regions, it shouldn’t be too long given the fact more players are reporting the fact they can get access from around the globe.

Legends of Runeterra is the second Riot-developed game to hit the mobile market. Teamfight Tactics is having its full mobile release deployed with the start of TFT: Galaxies on March 16 after a successful beta period.
Wild Rift, the League of Legends port for mobile, is currently available for pre-registration on both the Apple and Android app stores as well, although there’s no release date in sight for the MOBA-port yet.
Legends of Runeterra is currently in beta, with a full launch expected later in 2020.
