The revival of Thomas ‘Syndicate’ Cassell’s popular series ‘The Minecraft Project’ didn’t last long as the YouTuber revealed Season 4 has come to an end already, after just 11 episodes.
Fans of the popular content creator might have been expecting a lot more than what they actually got when he first announced it would be coming back, returning with episode #401 on January 21.
With previous seasons generating a boatload of interest, not many viewers would have expected the series to reach a conclusion so shortly after being resurrected. The Season 4 video figures weren’t anything to scoff at, either, attracting over 400,000 views for the first episode, although that tally did drop to just over 100,000 for episode 11.
In response to questions from fans wondering when he was going to be creating more Minecraft Project content for his YouTube channel, Syndicate addressed those concerns directly in a video post on February 17.
“I filmed 11 episodes, a bonus episode, I completed my tick list – apart from building a lighthouse – and I specifically said in episode 411 that was it for now,” he said during the video.
Syndicate continued: “I try to make one video a week on this channel, every Monday for your faces, with something different, something unique. I don’t want to just keep pumping out episode after episode after episode.”
In addition these The Minecraft Project episodes, the British content creator has also been providing fans with daily blogs – apart from on Sundays – and claimed that it would be impossible to balance that schedule with the series, without impacting the quality and “detail” of the videos.

During the video, he explained that he’s really thankful for the positive response from fans, particularly those who have watched previous seasons and came back for the new content as well but has no desire to keep the project going into the future.
For those looking for more Minecraft content from Syndicate, however, he did provide some reassurance.
He added: “I don’t want to be pumping episode after episode after episode out, I just don’t want it. I would rather make an episode when I feel like it, a bonus clip here, a bonus clip there, maybe a random one for a Minecraft video, but not daily content.”
One example of future Minecraft content that he said fans should look out for, however, would be him trying out the new Nether Update, which is expected to be released by Mojang across all platforms in the coming months. Until then, here’s everything you need to know about it, including new biomes, blocks, materials and more.
