A Monster Hunter Now Light Bowgun bug has transformed the worst weapon in the game into one of the strongest, wowing players with its “amazing” damage.
Monster Hunter Now’s Light Bowgun has been struggling to make a splash in the game’s meta ever since Niantic nerfed its damage. This has made it extremely difficult for Hunters to recommend over other weapons, especially when the Bow easily outclasses it in every category aside from range.
However, a new Monster Hunter Now bug has drastically raised the Light Bowgun’s damage, enabling Hunters to effortlessly melt through monster health bars. Not only is the bug particularly potent, but for the first time since the December update, LBG players feel powerful.
Monster Hunter Now Light Bowgun bug raises weapon damage
Posting on the official Monster Hunter Now Reddit page, JoriCal shared a clip of them fighting a 6-star Radobaan with the Blizzard Cannon LBG. However, instead of cycling through the usual Spread and Piercing shot types, the player only shoots Spread shots.

This enables them to deal 100+ damage per shot to Radobaan when positioned within critical distance. The damage is further amplified once a part break is achieved, which enables the Hunter to hit the exposed weak point for a whopping 139 per shot.
As you can imagine the 6-star Radobaan didn’t stand much of a chance and was killed within mere seconds of starting the fight. According to the player, the bug occurred when they lagged at the very start of the battle, which caused them to only shoot one ammo type.
It’s currently unclear if the bug is repeatable but either way, it’s a bug one Light Bowgun players will be hoping to experience when taking part in the Barioth and Legiana event.
