The Monster Hunter Now community has praised Niantic for the boosted spawn rates of certain monsters in the March update.
Niantic released its Monster Hunter Now schedule for March, giving players an early look at all the upcoming content. From new subspecies to 20th anniversary-themed quests, the developers have a lot planned for the mobile game next month.
However, one of the most eagerly awaited reveals was the boosted spawn rates for Black Diablos, Pink Rathian, Azure Rathalos, and Barioth. There’s also the addition of hourly spawns, which has been a long-requested feature during events.
Not only will this enable Hunters to be more efficient in their farming, but will also allow all players to enjoy the game whenever they like, as opposed to previous events which locked gated certain spawns behind certain hours.
Monster Hunter Now players praise Niantic for boosted spawns
“Black Diablos, Pink Rathian, and Barioth all getting boosted spawns, and hourly respawns!? And it looks like this time the hourly respawns are not limited to just the 1-5pm like the New Year event. March is going to be wild,” wrote one excited player.
Previously, Niantic only enabled players to farm event monsters during limited time slots, which made it extremely difficult for those who worked weekends or had plans to join in. There’s also the fact that subspecies have often trickled in and only been killable one at a time.

Well, the March update will allow Hunters to take down Black Diablos, Pink Rathain, Barioth, and the new Azure Rathalos – who will be making his debut.
“All 3 current subspecies in the game and Barioth all get boosted spawn rates while every hour monsters change? This is going to be awesome,” commented another player.
“That’s how the game should always be, reset every hour,” replied another. “At the very least increase spawn rates of monsters instead of the gaping holes we have now.”
Whether Niantic will keep this boosted spawn rate change in future Monster Hunter Now updates remains to be seen, but it seems that this change has gone down well with the community.
