Monster Hunter Now players have called out Niantic over the “underwhelming” Azure Rathalos item pack, which was added to the in-game shop.
The Monster Hunter Now Azure Rathalos event is now live, which gives players the chance to take down this deadly subspecies. Not only does Azure Rathalos feature some powerful weapons, but the new armor set promises to shake up the current meta.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Descent of the Azure King item pack. These premium bundles are added to the game whenever a new monster makes its debut, and comes packed with useful items Hunters can use in their daily outings.
However, the latest launch of the Descent of the Azure King item pack has led to the community calling out Nianitc over the “underwhelming” pricing of its microtransactions.
Monster Hunter Now call out “underwhelming” Azure Rathalos item pack
The Descent of the Azure King Pack costs $14.99/£14.99, and features one Paintball, five Special Carving Knives, and 11 Potions. The lack of items and the high price of this bundle has led many Monster Hunter Now players to voice their anger over the price and “underwhelming” nature of item shop packs.

“The packs are really underwhelming in this game sheesh,” commented one player. “Being ripped off slightly less than usual is not a deal,” replied another Hunter. Previously, the game’s community players had called out Niantic over their “insane” Roars of the Desert Pack price, which was released alongside Black Diablos.
While the latest pack does seem to include a few more Carving Knives and Potions, players still want Niantic to reevaluate the in-game shop items. “The only useful thing is the double rewards, which I’d use for gems and not Azure,” said one player.
“Adds up to 1500 gem value, then 480 gems left for 11 potions so that’s 43 gems per potion. It’s not much of a deal.”
