Rapper DDG sparked concern after peculiarly holding his infant son.
DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., and Halle Bailey welcomed their son Halo at the end of 2023.
Both artists are first-time parents and doted over their newborn after his birth, “My biggest blessing by far son son.. never been so in love baby halo,” wrote DDG in an adorable Instagram post.
However, DDG’s most recent photo of him and his son is now causing concern after he snapped a picture of himself holding Halo like a “basketball.”
Fans compare baby Halo to “basketball” in viral photo
DDG and Halle began dating a year prior to the birth of their firstborn. Their relationship sparked after exchanging messages back and forth.
However, Halle knew who DDG was from his YouTube fame in 2015. In 2022, she told Essence, “I grew up being on YouTube and would always see the young Black creators and was constantly inspired by them… He was one of them.”
Though the two would keep their pregnancy a secret, Halle announced Halo’s birth to Instagram in January of this year, saying that he was the “greatest” gift of 2023.

Pictures of Halo, though, are sparse. However, a photo of DDG holding Halo has gone viral, as many viewers thought he was holding him oddly.
“Why bro dangling his baby like that?“ asked one fan.
“Bro holding the kid like a basketball,” added another.
“Bro bounced him on the floor after the pic,” joked one user.
Fans also called DDG out for holding Halo as if he were a “Subway foot-long sub,” an “ iPad,” a “purse,” and a “football.”
At this time, DDG has not responded to the criticism or made fans aware that Halo was indeed in safe hands.
