Kanye West slammed Adidas over selling “fake” Yeezys on their website amid a reported $250 million lawsuit against the rapper.
Despite ongoing controversy, Kanye West pulled in $19.3 million in clothing sales following his “low budget” Super Bowl commercial. Those items, which included YZY pods, clearly connected with the general public.
As his Vultures album, a collab with Ty Dolla Sign, spent its second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the rapper came to blows with Adidas for allegedly selling “fake” YZYs on their website.
“All these celebrities and the public will stand against a T-shirt or the color of my hat, but when y’all see me have my children hidden from me or see an actual Fortune 500 company rape one of your heroes in real life, don’t nobody say nothing or do nothing,” West vented on Instagram.
Kanye West claims Adidas is suing him for $250 million
In a follow-up Instagram reel, Kanye West dove a bit deeper into the problem and revealed that the company is suing him for $250 million.
“Let me explain really clearly to you guys what’s happening with Adidas,” he began. “Not only are they putting out fake Colorways that aren’t approved, they are suing me for $250 million, and they’re also not paying me for these shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on it.”
He continued, “They’re using contract clauses and 50 years of business experience to r**e an artist, one of y’all favorite artists right in front of y’all in broad daylight.”

Many in the comments called for an outright “boycott” of the clothing brand. “Lame and impractical,” wrote one fan.
“Ye should drop a documentary about his Adidas journey, the first half would be so lit but the second half would expose the company,” suggested another fan.
“F*ck Adidas, we were only wearing Adidas because of you,” vowed a follower.
In October 2022, Adidas announced that the company dropped Kanye West following controversial remarks, saying he violated the company’s “values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”
Adidas later revealed that the split could cost the company more than $1 billion in sales.
It is currently unclear what “clauses” in West’s contract he violated and what exactly led to the $250 million lawsuit.
