Lil Nas X came under fire for a communion video he posted on TikTok, leading him to apologize to his Christian fans.
The internet has been abuzz since Lil Nas X kicked off his “Christian” era. From the single art for ‘J Christ’ to its music video, the rapper has ruffled the feathers of his Christian fans.
In response, the performer posted an apology video on Twitter/X. “I know I messed up really bad this time. I can act unbothered all I want, but it’s definitely taken a mental toll on me,” he said.
He went on to let his Christian fans know he was “not against you. I was put on this earth to bring people closer together and promote love. That’s who I am. I’m not some evil demon guy trying to destroy everybody’s values. That’s not me.”
Lil Nas X then apologized for a communion TikTok

In the same apology video, the rapper specifically called out the video and offered up sincere apologies. “With me eating the crackers and juice, I thought that video was going to be the video to lighten the mood, to take it down, like less serious or whatnot,” he said.
“I thought that it was something we all wanted to do as kids. But I didn’t understand the idea of the reality of what it is,” he continued.
“It’s me eating the communion, which is the symbolism of Jesus’s blood and bones. I did not mean it as a cannibalism thing or whatever the freak. But I do apologize for that. I am sorry.”
‘J Christ’ kicks off Lil Nas X’s brand new era, sampling his sophomore album. No release date or title has yet been announced.
