Nashville band Llorona fired its lead singer after allegations that the vocalist drugged a bandmate in a scheme to steal his fiance.
Bands break up all the time. Either from creative differences or to pursue solo music careers, bandmates frequently drift apart and venture out on their own.
There are those occasions, though, when something more serious leads to a rift among a band’s members. Such is the case with a Nashville-based hardcore band Llorona.
On their Instagram Stories, the band revealed that their lead singer Diego (not pictured above), drugged a bandmate in a scheme to steal his fiance.

Reportedly, Llorona frontman Diego admitted to “very disturbing and concerning behavior towards one of our band members and their partner,” the band wrote on Instagram. Diego became so obsessed with bandmate Sixx and his fiance that he began lacing Sixx’s pre-workout drinks with estrogen.
“He has been attempting to force a transition onto him for the last five months, in hopes that would give him the opportunity to ‘swoop in’ once he looked stronger and more manly in comparison,” the band continued in their statement. “This tampering has caused confusion and thousands of dollars in medical bills the past months trying to figure out what’s wrong.”

Diego allegedly confessed to his actions while intoxicated and later texted the group about his behavior.
Sixx went on to say he will be “seeing an endocrinologist over the next few months to track my hormonal fluctuations to see if my estrogen levels are extremely heightened and go back to normal over time,” he wrote. He noted several side effects, including stomach ulcers and muscle fatigue, since being given estrogen.
“He will not pass off what he admitted to as a joke or confusion even in his state of drunkenness. What he did is disgusting and has had an immense negative effect on my life,” Sixx concluded.
Soon after sharing the statement, Llorona deleted their Instagram account.
