Super Bowl LVIII features some of the best players the NFL has to offer. Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is as good as any. On Sunday morning, Kelce delivered a rousing speech, reportedly bringing his teammates to tears.
The future Hall of Fame pass catcher has been with Kansas City since entering the league in 2013. Once a third-round pick, Kelce wasted little time proving to the other 31 teams that they missed out on a premier talent.
After sitting and learning as a rookie, the Cincinnati Bearcat product caught 67 passes for 862 receiving yards in 2014. Kelce has eclipsed those numbers in each season since, including an NFL record seven straight 1,000-yard campaigns at tight end.
The multi-time All-Pro has been a go-to target for Patrick Mahomes since the latter became the full-time starting quarterback in 2018. Kelce and Mahomes rank near the top of the all-time rankings at each of their respective positions, thanks to a dominant half-decade together.
On top of his contributions on the field, Kelce often gets credit for being the heart of the locker room. According to reports out of Super Bowl LVIII, he showed that fiery leadership with a passionate pre-game speech for his teammates.

Travis Kelce brings teammates to tears before Super Bowl LVIII
Senior NFL reporter Albert Breer described Kelce’s speech as “unbelievable” and “powerful”. It reportedly brought on strong emotions from all of those in the room. A Chiefs assistant coach later told Breer, “Not even close. The best talk/speech I’ve ever heard.”
Followers of Kelce and the Chiefs won’t be surprised. The 34-year-old has never been shy to show emotion — both good and bad. His favorite saying, “You gotta fight for your right to party,” is synonymous with the previous two Kansas City titles.
Chiefs Kingdom hopes to hear the boisterous personality yelling that famous lyric while hoisting his third Lombardi Trophy. Although Kelce has shut down retirement rumors leading up to Super Bowl LVIII, he’s been vocal about wanting this championship more than any other in his career.
On Sunday, against the NFC’s top-seeded San Francisco 49ers, Kelce and the Chiefs get a chance at joining an illustrious group of NFL dynasties: an exclusive batch of teams that includes Tom Brady’s New England Patriots and Troy Aikman’s Dallas Cowboys.
