The Kansas City Chiefs got off to a slow start in the first half of Super Bowl LVIII, resulting in frustrations boiling over as Travis Kelce shoved head coach Andy Reid on the sideline.
Travis Kelce is a former third-round pick who has spent his entire NFL career with the Chiefs. He has set countless league records and won two Super Bowls during his first decade as a professional.
In the lead-up to Super Bowl LVIII, Kelce served as the main character for many viewers around the country. From the sudden influx of Taylor Swift fans to the usual support from the Chiefs Kingdom, the star tight end was a focal point of discussions all week.
As such, all eyes were glued on Kelce early on in the contest. The seven-time All-Pro caught one pass on the opening drive, which marked his only target in the first half.

As he stormed to the sideline, Kelce came into contact with Reid, visibly shocking the well-respected coach. It was so stunning that CBS announcers Jim Nantz and Tony Romo were in utter disbelief on the broadcast.
Kelce’s anger seemingly stemmed from Reid’s decision to remove the 34-year-old from the field during a crucial second-quarter snap.
This first half showing is unfamiliar territory for Kelce. In three previous Super Bowl appearances, he has caught at least six passes in all of them, including two total touchdowns.
The Chiefs will look to get Kelce involved more in the second half as Kansas City enters the intermission with a seven-point deficit vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
