Season 13 has landed in Overwatch 2, and with it comes a host of buffs and nerfs that have once again up the support meta.
After Season 12 introduced a brand-new face to the roster in Juno, this latest update has looked to keep matches as balanced as possible. Some Heroes have been hit harder than others, so it can be tricky to know who you should choose.
So, if you’re wondering who are the best support characters in Overwatch 2 Season 13, we’ve put together a meta tier list to help you make the right decision.

Our tiers explained
- S: The strongest supports you can play right now and generally a good pick no matter the comp you are playing with or against.
- A: Very strong and is usually a good pick, however is not always right for every single comp and can be easily countered.
- B: Although they are very good picks, they can be easily countered and can only work with specific comps.
- C: Can be useful in niche scenarios but can be easily countered by other heroes.
- D: Could be good in certain scenarios but is outclassed by other supports.
How we’ve ranked our Overwatch 2 support tier list
The way we’ve ranked our support tier list is simple, this is not focused on what is the meta in pro play (although it’s certainly influenced by it), rather it is based on how easy it will be for your average ranked player to climb with.
This is most obvious in our S and A tiers as you’ll find all the heroes in there regularly used in OWCS. We’ve decided that Juno, Lucio, Kiriko, and Ana are the top support picks as of now.
Lucio and Kiriko are both always solid picks and generally go well with most comps. Lucio is always a great main support pick, a solid choice for dive, rush, and brawl comps. Kiriko too is a solid pick as a flex support, a great addition to poke, dive, and even rush.
Ana is a more situational pick, and also the more mechanically demanding of the four, but what she brings to the table is some of the best CC in the game with her Biotic Nade and Sleep Dart. Additionally, Nano Boost is one of the best ults in the game and synergizes well with most heroes.
Although Juno is the newest hero, she has already proven to be one of the best supports in the game, despite a nerf in Season 13. Being able to be played as a main or flex support, with good team utility in her Speed Ring and Hyperbeam, and solid mobility to peel, it’s no wonder her pick rate is one of the highest right now.
In A tier, Illari and Brigitte are also great, however can be quite situational and not great with every comp. However, that isn’t necessarily true for Baptiste. He works in the rush/brawl meta we’re in right now, but is much more mechanically demanding in comparison to the other S tier heroes.
S Tier
Lucio
In the mid-Season 12 update, Lucio got a major buff thanks to the massive reduction to Tank’s passive knockback, and it has only made him stronger. Even though there were fears that Juno may completely replace him, he remains a dominant choice in Season 13.
No other hero in the roster can provide the consistent speed boost he does, in addition to his Sound Barrier that can save your entire team during a team fight, he’s too invaluable to many comps. Plus the mechanical skill it takes to get good at wall riding makes him even stronger (and really fun).
Ana
Out of all the heroes in S tier, Ana is the most mechanically demanding of the bunch, with most of her abilities requiring a degree of aiming, same with her healing/damage. And having to understand good positioning to compensate for her lack of mobility does take some learning.
Despite all her flaws and high skill ceiling, it’s worth it. Her CC is some of the best in the game, with Sleep Dart and Biotic Nade, and Nano Boost is one of the best ults in the game. Additionally, her weapon can output an insane amount of damage and healing, if you can aim that is.
And when Ana is paired with another main support that can peel for her, think Brigitte or Juno, she is even better as that makes her survivability to dives even better.
Kiriko
Ever since her release at the start of Overwatch 2, Kiriko has always been one of the most consistent flex supports in the game, and for very good reason.
Her Suzu is one of the best abilities in the game as it cleanses any debuff and even gives a split second of invulnerability, making it one of the most clutch abilities. If you have the mechanical skill, her kunais output an insane amount of damage with its headshot multiplier, and her Kitsune Rush can basically win a team fight if you use it correctly.

A Tier
Juno
When she first came out, a few felt she was quite disappointing, after a full season of learning her kit she has well and truly won the community over.
Her mobility is great and is surprisingly survivable against dives. Additionally, the utility she provides to her teammates is great, with Speed Ring and Orbital Ray, is incredible. And because of how wide her weapon’s projectile is, it’s very easy to output tons of damage and healing simultaneously.
She may not be the Lucio replacement everyone thought she’d be, and her Season 13 does knock her out of S Tier, but she fills a very big hole as a support which can flip-flop between flex and main and works on pretty much every comp.

Baptiste
With the right player behind him, Baptiste can almost function as a second hitscan DPS for the team, all the while healing the team.
Baptiste’s Immortality Field is one of the most clutch abilities in the game, able to save you and your teammates from a team fight-ending ult, additionally, his Amplification Matrix is one of the best tempo-setting ults, especially since it can help clear space for your tank to walk forwards.
However, in comparison to many other heroes, he is a very mechanically demanding hero. Balancing his healing and damage output is hard since one’s a projectile while the other is hitscan, and getting the timing right on your abilities is quite tricky. But if you can get the hang of it, he is close to becoming S tier.
Illari
Illari is a bit of a misfit at the top of the meta. Overall she’s alright when used as a flex support, however generally does much better if utilized as a main support. Her Healing Pylon allows your team to bunker on point, and her Captive Sun can make space for your team just by threatening massive AOE damage.
But what she lacks is utility. Right now the only thing you provide your team is healing and damage, no matter how high it can get it’s just not as useful as other heroes. Although that doesn’t make her bad, just situational.

Brigitte
Brigitte may not be a hero you pick in every lobby, but she’s incredibly effective at her job as an anti-dive peel main support, and in the ‘Junoats’ brawl meta we’ve found ourselves in, she is excelling.
Her Inspire passive gives a good amount of healing while her ultimate Rally makes her ridiculously tanky and provides a Stun to her Shield Bash. And when paired with Ana in a dive comp, she excels. However. when up against poke comps, she can falter. So use her situationally.
B Tier
Moira
Although not exactly meta in the top play, for most players, Moira is still quite powerful in Season 12 as she can dish out tons of healing and damage while having enough mobility to peel or escape dives.
Although it’s Moira’s lack of useful utility for your team that kneecaps her from being great. Right now she essentially does everything Illari can do, outputting tons of damage and healing, but without her long-range headshot lethality, and space taking.
C Tier
Zenyatta
Zenyatta suffers from being a pocketpick. When playing poke-centric maps or comps, Zenyatta will be your go-to support, but his vulnerability to dives is his failing point.
A Tracer, Sombra, Reaper, Venture, or really any high-mobility DPS can easily mark you off the battle. But, if you’re playing maps such as Circuit Royale or Rialto, he will be a must-pick. Even then, in this brawl/rush and even dive meta we’re finding ourselves in, he just can’t hang with the rest.
Lifeweaver
Lifeweaver got a slight rework to his Petal Platform in Season 12 now being able to reuse constantly and some buffs to the way his healing recharges while shooting, which sees his viability go up.
However, he isn’t exactly in the meta just yet. Although can be great at repositioning teammates and pulling off unique strats, he’s just too vulnerable to dives and too niche of a hero. Overall, why would you want a hero whose only utility to the team is repositioning them when you already have the likes of D.Va, Tracer, Sojourn, and Kiriko on the roster?

D Tier
Mercy
Mercy got some love in Season 11 thanks to Pink Mercy, and in Season 12 she got a little more attention thanks to some buffs, but she still remains the weakest in the roster right now.
With barely any damage output, you’re relying heavily on whoever you’re boosting, and with quite paltry healing as well, she just isn’t the greatest pick, especially if the enemy has a smart hitscan DPS who will be marking you out of the skies. However, to the Mercy Mafia, that might not matter at all.
