Blizzard announced a collaboration between Overwatch and LEGO early in 2018 and have provided fans with tiny bits of information since, but it looks like things might be gearing up to get the sets on sale in time for the holiday season.
On Tuesday, Overwatch tweeted a video of Game Director Jeff Kaplan assembling a Tracer lego mini figure at Blizzard HQ at what we can assume is the same desk he puts out Developer Updates from.
Once he’s done, Kaplan does his best to look shocked as the figure comes to life, bounces around and rattles off some Tracer voice lines before blinking towards the camera.
The Overwatch team has been playing around with stop motion since the “Trace and Bake” animation was released for Overwatch’s second anniversary.
As the poster girl for Overwatch, it makes sense to have Tracer be the first figure officially revealed, but LEGO teased more characters back in August, namely Reinhardt, Widowmaker, Genji, Soldier: 76, Mercy and McCree that will probably be included in the first release.

LEGO isn’t the only company Overwatch is collaborating with going forward, they also have plans with NERF to release Overwatch themed NERF guns, something like Soldier: 76’s rifle and D.Va’s pistol, which she already has a voice line for.
Right now it’s not a known fact if the Overwatch LEGO sets will be out in time for the holidays or whether fans will have to wait until early 2019 to get their hands on them, but it would make business sense for LEGO and Overwatch to get the sets out before the holiday season creeps around.
