Blizzard has unveiled the newest competitive Overwatch map, Busan.
The new map was rather appropriately revealed at the Overwatch Fan Festival in Seoul, South Korea.
Set in the city of Busan – as imagined by Blizzard for the futuristic world of Overwatch – the latest addition to the standard map pool is a Control map, the second for that game-mode to be added since the original release of Overwatch.
This isn’t the first time Overwatch has visited Busan, with a Lúcioball arena set in the city being introduced with this year’s Summer Games. Of course, this new Control map explores the city to a much greater degree.
The Blizzard team apparently took inspiration from Korean culture when designing the map, and even recorded “authentic sounds” from the city of Busan for use in the map.

The introductory video shows off three locations that are very distinct for the control points. The first is based in a traditional-looking sanctuary, the second in D.Va’s MEKA base as seen in the new Animated Short “Shooting Stars”, and the third downtown in the futuristic city of Busan.
Players won’t have to rely on gleaning information from the preview, however, as Busan is set to hit the Overwatch PTR immediately.
