Boston Uprising have released Stanislav ‘Mistakes’ Danilov from their Overwatch League roster.
The DPS player is the fourth player to part ways with the Uprising ahead of Season Two, with the team having previously announced the departure of Mikias ‘Snow’ Yohannes, Connor ‘Avast’ Prince, and Shin ‘Kalios’ Woo-yeol.
Mistakes spent much of the first half of the season on the bench for Boston, but when Jonathon ‘Dreamkazper’ Sanchez was removed from the team at the start of Stage 3 Mistakes was forced to step up as a starter without warning.
Despite the sudden change, the Uprising were able to complete Stage 3 undefeated, the only team for the entire season to finish a stage 10-0. Boston went on to reach the season playoffs, where they were defeated in the quarter-finals by eventual runners-up Philadelphia Fusion.

Chris ‘HuK’ Loranger, President of Gaming for Boston Uprising owners The Kraft Group, said:
“Mr. Danilov, you were the first person we picked up for the team and ended up in a role that I don’t think either of us expected throughout the whole season. You were a sub that played here and there, but stepped up for the team when we needed you most. We went on to have a perfect stage and the longest win streak in the League during one of our toughest times as a team. You started out as a Tracer 1-trick but adapted to fill in where we needed you most. I meant what I said that you were the best player in the final day of playoffs. No one is perfect but you strive and fight to be a better version of yourself in and out of game every day. I always appreciated your honest and bluntness as I am someone who is the same way at times. I wish you nothing but the best and hope you can continue to grow and succeed, you will be missed.”
Boston Uprising now have six remaining players on their roster, meaning they will have to sign at least two more to meet the minimum roster requirements by December 8. Notably, the four of the six remaining members are Korean, making it very possible that the Uprising could pivot to an all-Korean roster should they choose to.
The team have until September 9 to finalize which of their current players will remain for Season Two, during which time they can also trade with other Overwatch League teams and sign players from their Contenders team, Toronto Esports, to their OWL roster. After that, an exclusive free agent signing window will open for expansion teams, and Season One teams won’t be able to sign free agents until after it closes on October 8.
