A new Overwatch clip claims to show that Ana’s Biotic Grenade can deny Ashe’s TNT, but some players are questioning whether or not that’s actually what’s happening in the interaction.
Ana’s Biotic Grenade is one of the most feared projectiles in the game already, considering its ability to shut down any enemy from being healed that it hits.
Ashe’s Dynamite is a bit similar to Ana’s grenade, without any healing for allied players and a sustained burn for enemies – but one Overwatch player is claiming that, somehow, the two can cancel each other out.
Reddit user “AbiQuinn” posted a video titled, “TIL Ana grenade can deny Ashe’s TNT,” which at the time of writing boasts over 1,000 upvotes on the Overwatch subreddit.
The clip itself does seem to show an Ana Grenade and Ashe’s Dynamite meeting in midair and canceling each other out, but not everyone was convinced that’s exactly the case.
Some users thought that it looked like the Biotic Grenade exploded from the TNT, which was in turn eaten by D.Va’s Defense Matrix, which was definitely in the vicinity.

Without looking at it from another angle, it’s almost impossible to tell whether or not the abilities are really canceling each other out, but Ashe’s Dynamite is capable of some odd features.
For instance, Ashe’s stick of TNT is able to be hooked by Roadhog (although it would take a ridiculously accurate shot, similar to what Ana’s Grenade was tasked with, in the clip).
Again, the chances of this move being copied and actually used are slim to none, but if you have a cooperative teammate who you could practice and coordinate with, it would make a neat experiment/party trick.
A more accurate title for the clip might have been “TIL Ashe’s TNT can deny Ana’s grenade,” since that’s technically what happens – even if it’s a one-in-a-million shot.
