Dallas Fuel players paid tribute to former team-mate Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel ahead of their match against Houston Outlaws in Stage 4 of the Overwatch League.
As the starting players were being introduced at the start of the match, members of the team that had competed alongside xQc in the first two stages made a trademark gesture of his to the camera.
xQc’s ill-fated tenure with the Dallas Fuel was mired in controversy. Though the team struggled on a number of fronts for most of the season, having main tank xQc suspended on two separate occasions for his behavior outside of the game was undoubtedly a big contributor.
It seems there are no hard feelings for xQc’s former team-mates, however. The team has managed to turn things around significantly in Stage 4, and going into their match against the Outlaws they took a moment to pay tribute to their former team-mate.

One of those controversies actually related to the Houston Outlaws themselves, with xQc’s first suspension – which was extended to the end of the first Stage by the Fuel themselves – coming in the aftermath of a jibe by Outlaws main tank Austin ‘Muma’ Wilmot, to which xQc’s own response resulted in his punishment.
Though the two players reportedly made their peace on a personal level, it could only have heightened the competitive rivalry between the two Texas teams, which might perhaps have been why the Fuel players chose to invoke xQc ahead of this particular match.
The Houston Outlaws ultimately won the series 3-1, a crucial result to keep their hopes of reaching the end-of-season playoffs alive. The Fuel have long since dropped out of that particular race, but they can still make it to the Stage 4 playoffs.
Meanwhile, it has recently been announced that xQc will return to competitive play, joining GOATS to compete in Contenders Trials NA.
